Overview
The Bar Reef is a system of coral reefs just offshore from Sri Lankas Kalpitiya peninsula with the greatest biodiversity of any coral reef in the waters around Sri Lanka. Bar Reef has a high ecological, biological and aesthetic significance, being home to 156 species of coral and 283 species of fish. Snorkeling activities in Sri Lanka are second to none at the Bar Reef. A plethora of tropical fish and magnificently colorful coral reefs can be explored at several locations off the Kalpitiya coast of Sri Lanka.
